As our new VP - Head of Legal, you will lead a team of legal professionals, fostering professional growth and ensuring performance excellence. You will provide expertise in drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts for the provision of offshore wind services. You will also manage general corporate matters, including with respect to our ship-building program and our debt financing arrangements. This role will report into the Chief Legal Officer and will see you work closely with various internal functions as their primary point of contact for guidance on legal risks, obligations and opportunities. Your responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to): Undertaking executional legal work while providing leadership of and direction to the broader legal team. You will have responsibility for managing the legal teams budget. Drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex commercial contracts in the offshore space (principally on the BIMCO Supply Time and/or FIDIC construction forms), with your expertise being drawn upon in particular with respect to the liability, indemnity and warranty provisions of these contracts. Providing advice on a variety of other corporate documents, including contract templates, policies & procedures, and best practices to ensure efficiency and compliance with company objectives and applicable law. Contributing to Cadelers corporate governance activities, newbuildings, financings, or other strategic projects as needed. Managing relationships with external law firms, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective legal advice and support. Developing and implementing scalable legal processes to support the business as it continues to grow. Leading or supporting in internal audits or investigations as necessary. We believe the below qualifications are ideal: Qualified lawyer with a current practicing certificate (or equivalent qualification). 812 years post-qualification experience preferred, ideally with a blend of in-house and law firm experience. Proven expertise in drafting, negotiating, and managing a variety of commercial contracts. Experience with BIMCO Supply Time and FIDIC-type contracts strongly preferred, and familiarity with other BIMCO and marine construction templates helpful.
